Corded Petticoat – Designed from personal reasearch and pictures of original 1830's Corded Petticoats. These corded petticoats were the precursor to the boned hoops. When they became out of style they were passed on to the house slaves to wear. Because of clothing being passed on to the next person, there was a drawstring put into the waistband to eliminate a lot of alterations. This corded petticoat has side laced openings and a draw string in back and 36 rows of 9/16 cotton cord sewed into the skirt.
