Ladies 1850s-1860s Simplicity # 9761 (Never Ending Gown)

Using my/our purchased cotton fabric ... Gown, bodice is lined and boned, constructed with modern sewing techniques, modern gathering has been used in the skirt, historical, hand cartridge pleating is an extra cost.

Ordering fabric/shipping - 2 to 3 weeks getting in supplies and fabric.
Estimated 14 days construction/sewing time to final completion
Approximate Delivery Time is 6 to 8 weeks after payment/order has arrived.

This gown can not be ordered as a “rush” order (under 3 weeks dead-line).

Dress Fabric suggestions are light weight fabric such as Silk, Silk Taffeta, Taffeta, Batiste, and Light Weight Cottons.

If using the small plaid “Reproduction Homespun” as pictured (navy & black), the main fabric for this gown takes 30 yards. The reason for this is because it is a one direction cut fabric, and the fabric has a lot of imperfections that have to be diverted from being used.

All calculations are based on 42/45 in. wide, cotton fabric:
18 - 30 yards of main choice fabric (5.50 pr. Yrd.) - $99.00 – $165.00
7 and ¾ yards of matching/contrasting fabric for trims (5.00 pr. Yrd.) - $38.75
2 and ½ yards of fabric for bodice lining and bodice pads (3.00 pr. Yrd.) - $7.50
1 and ¾ yards of fabric for under sleeves and collar (3.50 pr. Yrd.) - $6.25
2 and ¼ yards of flat eyelet or trim for collar (2.50 pr. Yrd.) $5.67
Feather boning - $2.79
Piping cord - #24 twisted cotton cord - $1.50
Matching thread for all fabrics ($2.00 ea. Color) - $6.00
28 shank style buttons, 5/8 in. to cover or shank buttons of choice - $44.24
10 shirt or ½ in. buttons for attachable lower sleeves - $3.60
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Approximate Supply Cost - $215.30
Labor - $450.00

Approximate price $665.30 - $732.48 + shipping

Shipping and handling - USPS Flat Rate $15.60
