1860's Tea Dress

These gowns are made of 100% cotton and come with piping in most seams, bodice linings and boning. Dress opens in front, closures are hook & eyes or buttons (your choice).

Ladies 1850s-1860s # 4400 (Lavender/White Striped)

As pictured, using my/our purchased cotton fabric ... Gown, bodice is lined and boned, covered buttons and hooks are on the front bodice for opening/closures, modern gathering has been used in the skirt, historical, hand cartridge pleating is an extra cost.


Ordering fabric/shipping - 2 to 3 weeks getting in supplies and fabric.
Estimated 10 days construction/sewing time to final completion.

Fabric suggestions are light weight fabric such as Silk, Silk Taffeta, Taffeta, Batiste, and Light Weight Cottons.


All calculations are based on 42/45 in. wide, today’s standard cotton fabric:
9 and ¾ yards of main choice fabric ($5.50 pr. Yd.) - $53.63

1 yard of contrasting fabric for piping or add 1 yard to above listed fabric - $3.50

½ yard of interfacing - $1.30
2 and ½ yards of fabric for bodice lining (3.00 pr. Yd.) - $7.50
2 and ¾ yards for trim (2.50 pr. Yd.) $6.88
Feather boning - $2.79
Piping cord - #24 twisted cotton cord - $1.50
Matching thread for all fabrics ($2.00 ea. Color) - $4.00

You are welcome to purchase your own fabrics and have them shipped to me or I can purchase them for you adding in the extra cost for reproduction fabrics. If you would like to do your own purchasing of fabric and/or supplies I will then give you a fabric credit or credits for all supplies you have purchased for your gown. If you use the supply list given, I only charge for supplies that you do not purchase, labor and shipping remain the same.
