1830 mourning dress, veil, and hat.

1830's Mourning Gown or Widow's Gown

Is made of black shantung, trimmed with hand made flowers centered with a glass bead, neckline is bordered with a self-fabric piping, leg-o’-mutton sleeves that have small tucks at the top which is edged with a small candle wicked rosebud braid, a cuff turned up at the wrist with hand made buttons of the same dress fabric. Closure in back, and a belt at the waist. A chemisette made of black chiffon is under the dress.

Lady's 1830's Full High Gown – View A

View A: This dress has a square neck-line, off the shoulders sleeves that are knife pleated or tucked at the top, leaving the sleeves to blouse at the elbow and snug at the wrist. Skirt has 3 panals that are pleated into a high-waist waistband. This dress comes with piping in most seams, bodice linings and boning. Dress opening is in back, closures are hook & eyes or buttons.

View B: This dress has a rounded neck-line, off the shoulder gigot sleeves that are fuller at the top, and snug at the wrist. Skirt has 3 panals that are gathered into a high-waist waistband. This dress comes with piping in most seams, bodice linings and boning. Dress opening is in back, closures are hook & eyes or buttons.
